Every Day Is Earth Day

Only when the last tree has died

And the last river been poisoned

And the last fish been caught

Will we realize

We cannot eat money. ~ Cree Indian Proverb

  3. i think i just fell in love with your native landscape (and wildlife). i have always been a fan of the desert and its alienish landscape. i would love to live in the desert for a while (although, i would end up having to return to the sea since she has such a strong hold on my heart!). oh, and those mountains! I am a capricorn/aquarian cusper and i definitely have sea-goat in me. i need the mountains as much as i need the sea, but when i am with one i miss the other and vice-versa!
i hope your earth day is a bit more spring like that it seems your days have been lately.
    sending you spring!

    1. I've got to tell you, we got another inch last night. (See what I mean?!)
But...I'm okay with it. I gave myself a pep talk this morning. ;)
The landscape out here is "like no place on earth". (That use to be Wyoming's slogan)
I love it. I do. But, like you, I also think about living near the ocean (again) or in the hot & dusty desert (again). Some place where it doesn't snow. Ha! I know, you are appalled at those words, aren't you Brit?!!
But, for now, I will be happy, right where I am. ;)

  6. I melted when I read this in your sidebar today
"Once upon a time, when women were birds, there was the simple understanding that to sing at dawn and to sing at dusk, was to heal the world through joy. The birds still remember what we have forgotten, that the world is meant to be celebrated."
    ~Susan Salter Reynolds
That combined with your photos took me to the most peaceful place and I simply couldn't resist dreaming for a while.

    1. Well, aren't you just the sweetest, most uplifting thing around!
I feel the same about that quote. It's from the book,
When Women Were Birds by Terry Tempest Williams.
Find that book, Ash! And when you do, her words will stay with you forever.
      Truly.
