    1. You like the Coyote, don't you. We followed his paw prints all day long. They led to a hill where he stopped to graze with a wild horse! My husband got a picture with them both in it! It was incredible, Keith!!

  4. Wonderful series, and that feisty pony! Plenty of room to toss your cares and watch them be carried off in the strong hands of the wind.

    1. That pony was tossing her cares in the wind, also!
THAT WIND! Good grief, Brandi, it's just terrible this winter.
We went out hiking again today and it blew 70mph (at least). Tore us up!
It's exhausting and I feel beaten by sage dust and tumbleweed thorns!
But, I found three new bands of mustangs in the meantime. All worth it. ;)

  6. I'm shivering just looking at your photos, feeling the wind blow through me. Love the horse! And the tracks, and ravens, and rabbitbrush and mule deer, and...all of it.

    1. Brrrr is right! It's stinging cold. The wind is cutting. I cannot wait for summer!
But, it is so beautiful out there on the mustang land. It seems easier to take, all the inconvenient elements, when running around out there spotting bands of horses. It's exhilarating to watch them, so I forget how miserable I am. Haha!
It's always a pleasure to see you here, Diana.

  7. raw, biting, edgy, isolated beauty-- all of it! habitat for the hardy, most certainly.
the two ravens on the sign are so funny, as if to say that four-legged mammals are not the only wildlife around these parts. ah, the grip of winter... it is toying with us down here. two days of melting and the hope of drying ground followed by three days of precipitation and bitter cold. and now, an unforecast snowfall settling gently upon the ice that almost melted today... almost. layer up, friend!

    1. I see you've been having that same kind of winter. Hasn't it been a BEAR!?
I've been braving the turbulence and just saying YES to getting out there. Once I am then I'm so happy I ventured. I never thought I'd feel so invigorated and happy after a day on the plains in this sassy winter! ;)
Speaking of sassy, it sure is good to see you.

    1. As far as the eye can see. Man, it's big and empty, Bernard.
And no. I don't like being cold. Not one bit. I was frost bitten as a kid and it all come back to me when I'm out in it. I have the best north face brand gear (clothing) to keep me warm...but, nothing works. Poor circulation. That's gotta be it. I'm counting the days till summer.
You know, I ALWAYS say a "hey" to some little brown pony for you. Always.
