Snowed in

I'm doing some state hopping right now. Some rambling around. A kind of walkabout through Nevada, Arizona and California.

But, before I enthusiastically plaster images of desert scenes, of donkeys, saguaros and quaint hillside miner shacks, I want to share with you some pictures from our Christmas holiday in South Dakota's Black Hills.

Still fresh in my mind are the snow clumped, freezing manes of the wild horses of

The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary.

Feeding 500 mustangs in blizzard like conditions on Christmas Day turned out to be the greatest gift any horse lover could ask for.

    1. Hey Sagey!
While out desert tramping and I spotted that roadrunner, you have to know I smiled and thought of you. ;)
      More later... xx

  2. A most excellent way to spend Christmas! So many great photos - they take me right to the place. We've got so much snow here and are in for a lot more next week starting Sunday. I'll post a few photos on Flickr soon. Stay warm on those cold desert nights!

    1. Snow!! Are you loving that or what?! Enjoy it, Diana. I know how beautiful your place looks covered in it.
      And fresh deer tracks! :)
It is chilly here in the desert. We've been camping. Mostly in the rain. :/
      Smells really good, though.

    1. Thank you! We get to sidle up close with Dayton Hyde's wild ones. Oh, horse breath!
It's not been warm where we've been...the desert is cold, cloudy and rainy.
But, Wyoming is freezing with more snow so I'm not going to complain!
Your presence here warms my heart, though.
